LEGAL ETHICS

As an attorney, I am required to keep the confidences of my client. Sometimes I do not even let my assistant know that I am working on helping someone.

What happens in most courtrooms is PUBLIC. So I can talk all I want about what happened in a courtroom which is not closed to the public. Anything that is said by someone who is NOT my client is not confidential and I can talk about it.

I believe that child custody and visitation cases should be held ALWAYS in closed courtrooms. So I am VERY CAREFUL about what I say about child custody cases, as I would not want to damage a child.

I have a right to free speech, just like the newspapers have a right to publish things like the Pentagon Papers.
