BUTTERMILK PANCAKES

I am starting to dream about buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. It is an inexpensive and great tasting breakfast treat. Unfortunately, no restaurant close by me makes buttermilk pancakes anymore.

I think it is because ignorant people think buttermilk pancakes are made with butter and milk. For your information, BUTTERMILK is what is LEFT OVER after you make butter out of whole milk. It is NOT fattening.

Almost no restaurant serves real maple syrup, so I bring my own in a little cup. Yes, I do know maple syrup is fattening, but it must be good for you as it comes from trees. %>)

I also want thin, crisp bacon. Yes, I know I am fussy about breakfast.

Making buttermilk pancakes is actually really easy. The trick with pancakes is that you let the batter sit for half an hour before making the pancakes, and you wait until the pancake makes a lot of little bubbles before you turn it over. Unfortunately, I can no longer comfortably stand long enough to make pancakes. Such is life.
