GAY DEFINITIONS

Gay means a male who is sexually attracted to males. The formal term for this is homosexual.

Lesbian means a female who is sexually attracted to females. The formal term for this is homosexual.

Bisexual means a person who is sexually attracted to both males and females.

I have never understood why the term 'gay' only applied to males.

PEDOPHILIA has NOTHING to do with homosexuality. Pedophiles are sexually attracted to children. A pedophile is usually sexually attracted to either male or female children, usually within a specific age bracket.

The sad part about pedophiles is that the age group they chose is usually the age during which they were sexually abused as a child. Almost all pedophiles were sexually abused as children.

Research has shown that homosexuality and bisexuality are determined at birth.

CELEBRATING WASHINGTON'S BIRTHDAY

It is easy to forget that people who fought the British during the American Revolution were truly risking "their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor." The defiance of the committed, but out- gunned, American revolutionaries is reflected in Nathan Hale's last words before he was hung by the British, "I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country."

Right now, other people in other countries are risking everything by asking their government for true democracy and true civil rights. I admire these people, and fear for their safety.

I do NOT admire those people who use political slogans to justify murder of innocents, of civilians, of children, of people holding religious services. I do not know of ANY religion that believes someone who deliberately murdered an unarmed child will have a good life after death.

BUTTERMILK PANCAKES

I am starting to dream about buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. It is an inexpensive and great tasting breakfast treat. Unfortunately, no restaurant close by me makes buttermilk pancakes anymore.

I think it is because ignorant people think buttermilk pancakes are made with butter and milk. For your information, BUTTERMILK is what is LEFT OVER after you make butter out of whole milk. It is NOT fattening.

Almost no restaurant serves real maple syrup, so I bring my own in a little cup. Yes, I do know maple syrup is fattening, but it must be good for you as it comes from trees. %>)

I also want thin, crisp bacon. Yes, I know I am fussy about breakfast.

Making buttermilk pancakes is actually really easy. The trick with pancakes is that you let the batter sit for half an hour before making the pancakes, and you wait until the pancake makes a lot of little bubbles before you turn it over. Unfortunately, I can no longer comfortably stand long enough to make pancakes. Such is life.

MY BIOPSY RESULTS

I AM OK. If you were thinking good thoughts, or praying for me, thank you.

MY FAVORITE GEEK HAS A JOB

My favorite geek is now employed after a very tough year for him. I am glad for him, of course. Selfishly, I am upset that I no longer have free on-call computer help from a guy who holds 17 patents.

So, I am not perfect either! %>)

Now is the time to call all of your old buddies and see if they know of any work.

My guess is that most companies will be hiring through temp agencies to start.

Hiring through a temp agency saves the company the work of checking out the person, and gives the company a chance to make certain that the new person is a good fit for them. (The person is paid by the temp agency, but works at the company like any other employee. There are usually no benefits, and you can told you are not working with no notice.)

Often, the temp agency is told who the company wants for the position, so you should call your employed buddies, not the temp agencies.

DO NOT BITCH AT ME that this means no health insurance. I TOLD YOU how important health insurance reform is, but you all are freaked about higher taxes. It does not take long being ill before you realize that health is more important than money for iPods.

MISTAKES

We all make mistakes. No human is perfect.

How you tell an adult from a juvenile (of any age) is what (s)he does AFTER a mistake is made.

Juveniles deny that a mistake was made, try to cover up the results of the mistake, and never admit that something was a mistake. A juvenile will blame others for a mistake made by him/her.

Adults admit that a mistake was made, try their best to correct the mistake, and apologize to anyone that was injured by their mistake. An adult takes responsibility for a mistake (s)he made.

Adults KNOW that the only thing you can not change is the past. Adults forgive themselves for their mistakes. Adults try their best to not repeat a mistake.

Sometimes it is extremely hard to admit that a mistake was made. It ALWAYS seems easier to just ignore the mistake. But if your mistake harmed other people, it is ALWAYS best to admit the mistake and do your best to rectify whatever problems were caused by your mistake. This is also true for governments, corporations and other organizations.
